Time is of the essense for our work. The Nichta Ha clinic now has a diabetes club that will use strips not used on the mission so there cannot be too many strips! Thanks again. We organize the diabetes mission. We used to get all our test strips donated by the meter reps but the laws for such donations have changed in Vermont and we cannot get enough strips now.... We have the opportunity to screen up to 20,000 people for diabetes in the three weeks we will be in the Yucatan--if we get enough strips! Everyone with diabetes will receive education from Certified Diabetes specialists to learn how to control this disease, now the number one killer in Yucatan. It was about 11:00 PM and the band had just broke when there was a commotion by the beach. A nest of baby turtles had just hatched and were scrambling for the water.
